AquaPlus 200L Heat Pump

Our customer at this smaller sized property wanted to transition away from gas.  This was a straightforward job as access was very good and the previous installation had been done in a compliant manner which helps keep installation costs down. 

The AquaPlus 200: Compact Yet Powerful

For this job a smaller capacity was requested, we recommended the AquaPlus 200L storage electric heat pump.  Despite its smaller capacity storage cylinder, the AquaPlus 200 doesn’t compromise on performance. Quite the opposite—it delivers impressive recovery thanks to its powerful 1200-watt full-size compressor. In fact, by the time installation was complete, the unit had already reached full operating temperature.

While the AquaPlus 200 may look similar to others in its category, it stands out with one of the highest compressor ratings among its competitors. This makes it a standout choice for those who need fast and efficient hot water recovery in a compact unit.

We installed the system on a new concrete slab which was bedded on a rock and concrete mix substrate as heat pumps are heavy and we do not want them to sink.  This foundation ensures long term stability.  For added safety and peace of mind, a tempering valve has been installed to regulate the  hot water to  a maximum temperature of 50°C — helping to reduce the risk of scalding while maintaining comfort.

This system has a dedicated electric circuit and the system is hard wired.  It has a compliant lockable isolator switch installed.  The overflow and condensate drains are run away and they discharge in an approved manner.  

As part of the decommissioning process, the old gas line was capped off and the old system officially scrapped and recycled at an approved metal recycling facility.

This is another great example where forward planning and proper execution can make the transition from gas to electric hot water seamless.
