Reclaim Split Heat Pump (with Wifi) REHP-CO2-315SSQ-V2 with Stainless Steel tank

Our customer was looking at replacing a defective gas boosted solar system to an efficient Reclaim heat pump system.  This was also the last gas appliance in use in the house, so our customer was able to arrange for the gas account to be closed.  We suggested a wifi Reclaim with a 315L squat stainless tank so that it was out of sight.  

 

Our customer had a substantial PV (photovoltaic) solar panel system on his roof so was looking at a quality heat pump.

Reclaim has just announced a 10 year wifi heat pump warranty and because our customer opted for a stainless steel tank, the stainless steel tank comes with a 15 year tank warranty.   Reclaim is a premium product and they are backing their product with a warranty of 10 years on the heat pump and controller, that is over twice that of many systems.

The benefit of wifi is the convenience of using your smart device to change settings, hours of operation and to monitor usage patterns.  You may ask why this is important?  We find many of our customers, such as our one on this job, want to optimise the time the system is heating water in relation to their PV output during the day.  This period can change throughout the year so you can easily change the heating time periods.  It may also be as simple as the family staying for the weekend so you can click the boost button on the app to get an extra 3 hrs of heating without going outside.  Reclaim also has common pre-set times which can easily be set.

Reclaim does not need a back up or boost electric element unlike many current integrated/all in one heat pumps.  Reclaim  has a top down heating system so that usable hot water is available in a very short time.  Hot water actually gets pumped into the top of the tank and that is where hot water to your house is drawn from.
