Premium Heat Pump Range
Heat Pump Mechanics
Heat-pump hot water systems harness the principles of refrigeration cycles to extract heat from the surrounding air. This heat is then transferred to water within an insulated storage cylinder through a heat exchanger. The energy efficiency of these systems is impressive, consuming approximately 60 to 75% less electricity compared to conventional electric hot water systems. Unlike the direct heating mechanism employed by traditional electric systems, heat pumps employ electricity to power the heat pump itself, which then heats the water indirectly.
Sun-Powered Efficiency: A Kinship with Solar Heaters
An interesting analogy emerges when considering heat-pump hot water systems and solar water heaters. Both systems harness the sun’s energy, albeit in different ways. Heat-pump systems derive heat from the air, which is ultimately warmed by the sun. Unlike solar systems, heat pumps don’t rely on electric or gas boosters, utilizing electricity solely for operating the evaporator fan and compressor during water heating. This distinction positions heat-pump systems as efficient alternatives to solar heaters.

OUR VIEW
- The Rheem Ambiheat HDc 270 is a favorite among our customers. People trust the Rheem brand, and this Australian made model stands out with a much more powerful compressor than many competitors. That extra power means faster hot water recovery—something that really matters for busy households.
- Many of our customers prefer straightforward functionality over complex features. That’s why Rheem has kept the operation of these hot water systems simple—no apps, no Wi-Fi, just reliable performance you can count on.
- Being Australian made means you can trust the reliability, and it’s always readily available locally for quick installation when you need it most.
- With the Rheem Ambiheat HDc 270, you truly get what you pay for. It sits firmly in our Premium range for a reason. As installers, we notice the difference straight away—the quality is simply a step above many of its imported competitors.
- From the finish and durability of the outer casing to the higher-grade components inside, the Ambiheat HDc 270 feels like a return to the kind of robust, reliable hot water systems we used to install, and I have been installing hot water systems for 40 years. It’s those little things—the solid build, the attention to detail—that make it clear this system is designed to last. That’s why we install the Ambiheat HDc 270 as a premium system.
- I really like that Rheem has been in Australia since the late 1930s and it does make you wonder whether a lot of these newer “pop-up” companies selling heat pumps will even be around in a year or two.

Our Views
- We found the AR series of hot water systems is one of the best all in one systems we have installed. This latest Rinnai has improved out of site compared to the previous offerings, so forget about old reviews. This is all new, and Rinnai has listened to installers and customers feedback.
- 10/10 for packaging and fit and finish. Trust me, as an installer it all starts here. If the manufacturer does not care about the simple things then you start worrying about the major things, such as the tank and compressor.
- The control panel is basic enough for those who want simple operation and for those into controlling from their smart device then this will suit you. We liked the choice of the 5 modes, 3 of which are important for customers’ individual needs. Eco mode is for basic heat pump operation, Standard mode is similar to Eco mode except reheating starts quicker which is our preferred setting. If the family comes down on the weekend then Hybrid mode uses a combination of heat pump and element to give you hotter water quicker. These are options that many systems do not have.
- We found the system was as quiet as described in the brochure.
- Remember, the system is only as good as the installation so click the quote button at the top of the page to arrange an installation quote for this fantastic Australian made product.

We had our gas hot water system changed by Geoff last month. From start to finish, he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Initial call was full of information to allow us to do all the research we needed and no pushy sales tactic, just a caring approach to solve your issue which is what we really appreciated. Extremely organised, he even installed a mini temp heater to get us through the week! Installation was brilliant, really well priced and went out of his way to help us with everything and more. Couldn't recommend Geoff and his son Trent enough. Extremely clean, methodical work - everyone we have shown have been extremely impressed with the work done - let the pictures speak for themselves! A BIG thank you to Janey behind the scenes for making things happen with our rebate too!! We have already started recommending Geoff to people we know on the peninsula for when they need their hot water system fixed/changed/updated! We will be a lifelong customer. Thank you again & speak soon. BrandonPosted on Google![]()

Heat Pump Rebates
and Government Incentives
There are up to 3 government rebates which we can potentially claim on your behalf. This reduces the total cost of your heat pump hot water system and installation. These rebate amounts change regularly.
We can apply for these rebates on your behalf and offer the amounts as a price reduction on the total cost of the job.
Use your rebates wisely, you cannot claim them again in a couple years because you made a poor choice with a pop up company and inferior product.
Clean Energy Regulator – STCs
STC Rebate
STC’s are a Federal Government rebate. The good news about this rebate is that if you install a heat pump hot water you will qualify for a rebate amount, that is only dependent on which brand and model you install.
STC’s are used as a way to meet renewable energy targets and reduce carbon emissions. They make renewable energy systems more accessible and attractive.
When you install an eligible renewable energy system, you earn a certain number of STCs.
The average amount of this rebate is approximately $800.
Victorian Energy Upgrades
VEEC Rebate
The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program offers incentives for households to upgrade to efficient hot water systems. Only products meeting the VEU program requirements can be installed under this program. This is commonly called the VEEC rebate.
VEEC rebate amounts vary depending if the system you are replacing is common storage electric or gas. Existing solar hot water systems now qualify subject to conditions*.
amount of this rebate is approximately $675 when replacing storage electric and $450 when replacing gas hot water.
*To be eligible for VEEC’s, the solar system must be at least 5 years old and must have non-functioning components.
Solar Victoria – Heat Pump Rebate
Means Tested
As a Victorian householder, you could receive a hot water rebate if you meet the following criteria:
- you’re the owner-occupier of an existing property where the system is to be installed
- the combined household taxable income of all owners is less than $210,000 per year
- the property is valued at under $3 million
- the property address has not previously received a hot water rebate or a solar battery rebate under the Solar Homes Program
- the hot water system to be replaced is at least three years old from the date of purchase.
This rebate is $1000.
Premium Heat Pump Range.
Our Premium Heat Pumps are proudly Australian-made, sourced from trusted companies with a strong reputation for reliability and exceptional customer support, they are all eligible for locally made $1400 incentive rebate.
The rebates are added together to calculate the total deduction in the cost of the heat pump installation.
Note: The calculations were based on installing a Rheem HDC-270 (model 551270) Heat Pump. Installation date June 2024. Location Frankston 3199, Victoria.
