Our customer had been using a 135L gas storage hot water system that had reliably served their home for 22 years. As this was the last remaining gas appliance on the property, replacing it presented the perfect opportunity to disconnect the gas service entirely and eliminate ongoing gas charges.

The Apricus is an all-in-one, fully integrated system designed for optimal performance and convenience. It features a comprehensive timer assembly that can be easily accessed and controlled through a smart media app via the household Wi-Fi network.
Operating at a quiet 43 dB sound level, the Apricus is one of the quieter systems available, making it suitable for noise-sensitive environments. It offers a wide range of timer and mode functions, providing flexibility for various household needs.
Ideal for homes equipped with photovoltaic (PV) panels, the system allows you to schedule operation during peak sunlight hours—typically between 10 AM and 4 PM—maximizing the use of solar energy. Users can program up to three separate operating periods per day, enabling tailored energy use and increased efficiency.
This installation previously featured an in-built hot water system housed within the brickwork. With the upgrade, that section has now been weatherproofed, as the new heat pump system is designed to be installed at ground level.
The system has a 260-litre storage capacity and typically heats water to 60°C. This allows for the delivery of over 350 litres of shower-temperature water (around 40°C), making it highly efficient for household use.
For added safety, a tempering valve has been installed to ensure hot water is delivered at a maximum temperature of 50°C — helping to reduce the risk of scalding while maintaining comfort.
